Logs on Point in Purple 66, 67, 68, 69, 70 from Virtual Quilter

Interesting. Looks like four crowns around the outside!

Now there are very wide Ws around the edge.

How to turn W into a V!

Now I have and 8 laying across teh design.

Something different, though all of today’s designs are a bit different!

They’re a weird mob today, but interesting to see what happens when I play with a simple collection of Log Cabin Blocks.

More Log Cabin quilt designs mid week, next week.

Logs on Point in Purple 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 from Virtual Quilter

In this project file I am making just minor changes with each step, and saving every one of them. Some of the results are less than spectacular, to say the least, but it is interesting seeing the difference the small changes make.

I like the change from the first to the second design.

Oops, went back to the first and made a different change which is interesting, but I don’t like it as much as the first change.

Tired a bigger change this time, with interesting result.

Looks a bit like crowns on all four sides in the last ...

I like the green, but it could be replaced with orange, yellow, pink, blue, violet, …. or the purple could be replaced!

I think the second one would look interesting in a straight setting.

Or with the colours reversed and a few blocks changed!

the one above is interesting, but the centre could use a bit of bright!

I like them all, but the last one is my favourite for the day.

That is all for this week, but I will share more Log Cabin designs mid week, next week.

Interesting …

… but more interesting to see what happens if the centre is modified …

… then modified again.

I like the last of the modifications.

Love the one above …

… and like the last one for this weeks mid week Log Cabin retreat.

And while you are taking time out from whatever you should be doing, here is something else to look at.

Logs on Point in Purple 46, 47, 48 49, 50 from Virtual Quilter

Time for a break from a weird world for a few moments to study some Log Cabin designs.

Some interesting things happen when Log Cabin blocks are used in an on point setting.

Lots of room for quilting in the one above though there are a few seams in the way.

The easiest way to quilt these would be to print the blocks onto fabric … then there are only seams between borders.

Left my favourite for today until last.

More Log Cabin designs, mid week, next week.
